Youth Firearm Safety Class
June 27 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm$50.00
Youth Firearm Safety Class – Thursday June 27th 4pm to 6pm
This class is designed for young shooters ages 12-17 in need of firearm safety education. Designed primarily for gun safety and awareness at home to include topics such as proper storage of a firearm and ammunition, identifying safeties on various firearms, and how to unload and make safe common firearms found in homes today. As a secondary goal the class will explain various activities within the shooting sports that students can become involved in while explaining types of range commands and safety etiquette when shooting with others. Both the primary and secondary goals of this class necessitate a healthy understanding of and respect for firearms and this is achieved in the class through seated class time and hands on experience with the instructor.
There will be no live ammunition present in the classroom or live fire at this course, as a substitute, The Modern Sportsman has invested in virtual simulators to help build muzzle awareness and trigger discipline before even entering a range. The class itself is two hours long and will begin with questions from parents. It should be noted that this is neither a hunter safety course nor a beginner course in firearm accuracy this class is designed solely to build safe firearm handling habits and skills that can be brought to any activity involving firearms.
